In collaboration with the 5th grade Jazz students across the four different elementary schools within my district, the Elementary Band Teachers produced Mamaroneck's first ever cross-district 5th Grade Virtual Band Performance! Students were encouraged to send videos of themselves playing through the entire piece in addition to a short recording of them performing an improvised solo. After my colleague mastered the audio, I performed 100% of the video editing, having had no prior experience. This production is not only a demonstration of my newly acquired video editing skills, but it is also a testament to my ability to adapt and learn quickly. From start to finish, this video took less than four days to complete.

In the Spring of 2021, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, an in-person Spring Concert was not feasible with the many restrictions at the time. Rehearsing typical multi-part band pieces was also not a possibility due to the instrumentation issues and other obstacles resultant from the hybrid learning modality. In lieu of a more traditional Spring Concert, I created a scrapbook style presentation that documented each grade's growth throughout the year. Each piece that was performed and recorded was recorded by both hybrid groups of in-person students and I created sewn-together videos from the video submissions I had collected from my online students - all students had opportunities to be included!
In addition to these videos, students were also encouraged to record their favorite exercise from our lesson book and submit their videos to be featured as soloists.
Mr. Cheron recorded and rehearsed the combined chorus.
Dante Marrocco rehearsed and recorded both bands, edited the band videos, and assembled this presentation for distribution to the school community.
