About Me

My Experience

My Experience

My Experience

Since graduating from Ithaca College with my B.M. in Music Education & Performance in 2019, I have found my stride teaching elementary band. I also graduated from Boston University with my M.M. in Music Education in 2023 for further strengthen my capabilities and philosophies as a music educator.

I began my career in Mamaroneck CSD where I taught part-time band lessons across their four elementary schools. After this first year, I became the full-time elementary band teacher in Marlboro CSD where I remained for two years before switching to my current position in Dover UFSD in 2022 where I teach elementary band & Ukulele as music enrichment.

My time in these settings has helped me become the experienced and passionate elementary band teacher that I am today. While I enjoy working with all ages of students, I find nothing more fulfilling than helping the youngest band students take their first steps on their musical journey.

My Skill Set

My Experience

My Experience

First and foremost, I pride myself on my ability to learn and adapt quickly. I am constantly striving to further my abilities and skills.

Ithaca College provided me with a high quality pedagogical foundation and provided me with ample opportunities to practice my pedagogical skills, my instrument-doubling skills, and my ability to work with large groups of learners of varying ages and abilities. Boston University strengthened my educational philosophies and helped me turn them into action in my classroom.

Communication and organization are some of my strongest skill-sets. In order to see every student for their band lessons, I must keep up-to-date records on every student's MTSS schedules, related services, and keep a keen understanding of the entire building's schedule in order to make sure no student ever has to miss their lesson.

My Goals

My Experience

My Goals

I am looking to contribute to and grow a music program in cooperation with all facets of the established music department. I am most experienced with Elementary aged students but would be thrilled to work with any age of students.

Advocacy for my students is one of my most central professional objectives. I am always looking for new ways to support their needs financially, emotionally, and mentally. I firmly believe every student ought to have access to a high quality program, so I am always seeking to identify the obstacles that may stand in their way - be it financial, language, or otherwise.

I am constantly seeking ways to make music fun and engaging - to create life-long musickers, not just musicians who put the horn down after Highschool. To achieve this, I strive to gamify practicing to instill strong and productive practice routines in all of my students from the very beginning. I also seek to expand their musical offerings, to show my students that there are many ways to music. My 5th Grade Jazz Band and 5th Grade Ukulele enrichment classes were forged with this mission in mind, and my students have been incredibly responsive.
