Get to know me!
I graduated from Ithaca College in the Spring of 2019, having completed the 4½ year Music Education & Performance Degree program in just four years. During my time at Ithaca, I completed my Junior Student Teaching with the Elizabeth Ann Clune Montessori School of Ithaca and my Senior Student Teaching with the Owego Apalachin Central School District.
Immediately following my Graduation, I began my teaching career in the Mamaroneck Union Free School District where I taught band students in two cooperating band programs across four elementary schools during the 2019-2020 school year.
Since August of 2020, I have been teaching 4th & 5th grade band, as well as 3rd grade general music in the Marlboro Central School District in Marlboro, NY.
First and foremost, I pride myself on my ability to learn and adapt quickly. I am constantly striving to further my abilities and skills.
Ithaca College provided me with a high quality pedagogical foundation and provided me with ample opportunities to practice my pedagogical skills, my instrument-doubling skills, and my ability to work with large groups of learners of varying ages and abilities.
During the COVID-19 Pandemic, I worked diligently with my counterparts within the music department to establish informed and coordinated plans to deliver high quality and enriching musical experiences through distance learning. I have developed several new skills that have proven useful in this online-learning setting. Be sure to check out my Arrangements and Virtual Music pages listed in the Navigation bar above.
I am looking to contribute to and grow a music program in cooperation with all facets of the established music department. I am experienced with Elementary aged students but would be thrilled to work with any age of students.
I also bring fresh ideas as a new teacher; I am eager to expand a well-established music program in the directions of Modern Band and eMusic. It is my personal philosophy that these two musical environments provide a unique musical outlet to those who are not generally interested in the classic and conventional forms of making music in school.
